Parenting and entrepreneurship are both full-time jobs—so when people ask how I manage to build learning products while also homeschooling and running a business, my answer always comes down to this:
Grace, flexibility, and finding my way.
I don’t follow rigid routines. I build around my life—family first. Sometimes that means evening work sessions (thankfully, my husband loves to cook!), and sometimes it means letting go of other people’s timelines or “shoulds.”
I learned to work with fluctuations in my energy – knowing which tasks take high energy and which ones I can do when energy is low. (More on that later!)
But more than anything, what’s made this path sustainable is learning to start small and simple.
The Biggest Misconception About Residual Income
There’s a myth floating around that if you’re not launching a massive course with fancy automations and a perfectly polished funnel, you’re not doing it “right.”
But I’ve found the opposite to be true.
Starting with small digital products or micro-offers is one of the most powerful ways to begin.
Why?
- It lets you test your idea before investing all your time and energy.
- It gives you quick wins (and confidence).
- It shows you what your audience actually responds to.
Evergreen income doesn’t have to start with a 12-module signature course. It can start with a 2-page download or a $27 toolkit.
Simplify by Solving One Problem

So how do you find ideas for those smaller, quick win evergreen products?
- Start with solving one problem at a time
When you solve one problem with each offer, everything becomes lighter:
- You know exactly what your product is supposed to do.
- You can design a clear transformation (hello, A-to-B journey).
- Your audience sees it and says, “Yes. That’s exactly what I need.”
Trying to cover too much ground leads to bloated content and confused messaging. Our lives are complicated enough—we don’t need products that try to take us from A to Z all at once. Just give people the next step.
Make It Easy to Deliver (and Repeat)
Here’s how I keep things low-maintenance and high-impact:
- I use a rinse-and-repeat framework so I’m not reinventing the wheel every time. (Check out this blog article to learn more: From Roots to Canopy A Structured Approach to Course Creation)
- I automate delivery so products stay evergreen and accessible. (I’m the first to tell you that you should use the systems that work for you – this is what I use: Automate Your Hustle, a white label of Go High Level with amazing support).
- I design for stages, not just topics—so my audience can keep coming back as they grow.
And I always, always build with connection in mind. Even a self-paced product can feel personal.
A thoughtful email, a comment invitation, or even a “Tag me if you try this!” can go a long way.
